Here are the pictures of the treasures I bought for our babycakes while I was in Vegas last weekend. The Chinese Baby Doll is from FAO Schwartz (so sad there are only 2 left in the US!), the Clown is from the Cirque du Soleil shop and the art books are from the Bellagio Fine Arts Museum. Very good times in Vegas Baby!

The ice skating lessons are going pretty well. No spills yet and I am almost mastering the balance part without being bent over at the waist the whole time. :) We skated figure eights today, I need to keep practicing but I am really enjoying this new form of exercise!

My Winter Blossoms Secret Pal sent me these great gifts for our "Read Me a Story" April theme. The package included a blanket, rattle, books and very sweet card. Thank you Carol!

Vegas Baby!

Last weekend I went to Las Vegas with my friend Maria. We had a blast! We did spa treatments on Friday. I had a body wrap, facial and Swedish aromatherapy massage. The masseuse put very hot, wet pouches of potpourri on my skin and then massaged the area. It was one of the best I have ever had! Turns out the woman who did my facial is a real estate in Vegas, so we chatted about investing there, I think it's a great market to invest in - fastest growing city in the country!

On Saturday we shopped and saw by Cirque du Soleil. It was so awesome! Every meal we had was heavenly - we ate at Spago (Wolfgang Puck's restaurant), Bellagio Cafe, Olive's, unbelievable top notch chefs! Vegas really surprised me with its sophistication!

On Sunday we saw the Ansel Adams exhibit, it was very good and I bought a print for Dan, he loves Ansel. I bought our daughter a Chinese Baby Doll at FAO Schwartz, a clown figurine for the nursery and two board books - one on Monet (my favorite) and one on Renoir (Dan's favorite). I am getting a little out of control buying stuff for this child. I can't help it, I am so-o-o-o ready for my mini-me! :)

Here is a picture of me and Maria at the GORGEOUS Bellagio hotel - Viva Las Vegas!

Laura...on Ice!

Well, I took my first lesson on Saturday and had a blast! There were about four other classes at the same time, all for kids, so when they opened the rink to students I was supposed to skate around a group of kids to get to my class. I stepped on the ice and literally said "I don't know what I'm doing!". So, one instructor took my arm and another gave me a "walker". Yes, it resembles a walker that elderly people use, but I put pride aside and found my way to my adults only beginner class.

I used the walker for the first few exercises, then my instructor Jill said "You don't need that - I'll let you use it this week but that's it." So, I threw caution to the wind and put the walker aside. I spent the last half of class on my own with no falls! :) I learned "skate, skate, glide", how to stop (kind of) and snow angels forward and backward. Next week is one legged glide - I hope to practice this week when I am in TX on business. There is an ice rink near my client and I would love nothing more than to impress my teacher. I know, I know, that need to excel in school and earn praise never goes away. ;)

Happy Easter!

We hosted a brunch for my parents, oldest sister Diana and her family today to celebrate Easter. We had a lot of fun and also celebrated Alfie and Katie's 2nd birthday - they turned 2 in February. Here are some pictures of the little darlings in their Easter best enjoying the party! Alfie is in the green and yellow polo, Brody is in the red and blue polo and Princess Katie is in the pink dress. :) Their custom birthday cake is from Three Dog Bakery, their favorite place in the universe next to PetsMart!
